Glen Powell knows he's Glenough.
The Hit Man star heaped praise on Ryan Gosling, after it was suggested that Glen is actually more appealing to men and women than the Barbie actor.
"Gosling is a legend," Glen posted to X Aug. 27. "I'm just Glen."
The 35-year-old's response obviously delighted his fans, who took to the social platform to share their own thoughts on the matter—with many of them getting in on the viral Barbie memes. "your job is tornado," one user joked. Another added, "everywhere else you are a ten tho."
The heartfelt response came in response to an article quoting an anonymous producer who compared Glen's rise to 21st century movie stardom to that of Ryan.
"Glen Powell is most definitely an up-and-coming movie star in the sense that audiences now go to movies to see him," they told The Wrap in the Aug. 26 piece. "Unlike an actor like Ryan Gosling whose appeal is mostly limited to female audiences, Glen appeals to both females and males."
Indeed, since his breakout role in Set It Up, Glen's star power has only reached new heights—including in recent years with films like Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You and Twisters. And while he's hard at work with his new series Chad Powers—in which he's shown off his unrecognizable transformation in set pics—he's also been hitting the books.
Earlier this summer, he shared that he was headed back to real college to finish his degree at the University of Texas.
"I'm not going to be sitting in a class with other students on the regular," Glen told Indiewire in July. "I'm basically going to be coming back because I have to finish up, but I'm going to be shooting The Running Man in the fall. So I'm going to be in London, but I am going to be going back for proctored exams."
And as he explained, the choice to get his degree—he's double majoring in Spanish and early American History—is as much for him as it is for his mother, Cyndy Powell.
"I think it's really important to my mom and it's more of an emotional thing for me," he noted. "Plus, I'm so close, I can taste it."
